The buzz is going around that system builder Dell is about to whip Apple where it hurts the most, the design. Dell first posted an ad at Uptownlife.net, which was rapidly removed, but later confirmed by a Dell spokesman. He only confirmed the Adamo by Dell picture though, not the text of the accompanying blog post (found after the break). There is no official information available at this time, but people have been able to dig through Dell’s servers and cached webpages to find at least details surrounding the new laptop.
“Rumor has it that Dell is coming out with a computer called Adamo that will rival the MacBook Air. At press time, the company was keeping the product tightly under wraps, but PC users rejoice – word on the street is that something cool is coming your way.”
What we do know is that the new laptop will measure 13″, but the display itself is supposed to be a superthin version from Samsung, thinner than the one used by the Macbook Air. An eagle-eyed user also managed to dig up that it uses a 45W power adapter, which doesn’t really tell us anything but that the hardware should be quite energy efficient.
Slot-loaded DVD burner, optional Blu-ray drive, DisplayPort, Solid State Drive and prices starting at as low as $1500 says TGDaily. Expect an announcement during CES.
