Dell and AMD – Will it happen?

Dell can pretty much be considered the last outpost for Intel. No other manufacturer has for so long chosen to stay away from AMD’s processors. Rumours have been going back and forth all the time and last year someone actually found AMD’s processors for sale at Dell even, but as accessories then but it was at least a step in the right direction. 2006 maybe can become the year when AMD finally dares to go all the way and start selling systems based on AMD’s circuits. If so it will most likely be the AMD Opteron as these have a pretty clear advantage on Xeon wen it comes to performance/watt, but also a much more attractive price.
