Dell has already launched its first AMD-based computer system, but then they were solely server systems with AMD’s Opteron processors. The latest rumors have spoken of both portables and stationary computer for end consumers with AMD processors under the hood. Now Dell has officially confirmed that it’s currently working on AMD-based systems to complete it already wide assortment of Intel-based PCs. Dell has said it will launch the first AMD-based laptops already in October and then it will be 15.4″ portables intended for regular consumers. AMD has really managed to get a foot in at Dell and it is going to be interesting to see what this will do for the world’s second largest x86 processor manufacturer.
