Dell 3007WFP is without doubt one of the meanest LCD monitors on the market with its 30″ screen. Dell’s new flagship aimed to battle Apples 30″ Cinema HD Display when it was launched earlier this year, but it seems that the first units didn’t quite measure up to what they promised. The biggest problem with 3007WFP was that the panel suffered from obvious escaping light, which caused problems with the brightness and apparent light shifts over the entire surface. At DailyTech they’ve written about how they got a 3007WFP revison A00 exchanged after severe problems with escaping light and after a failed return and receiving the same revision back they finally got a A01 revision of the monitor with considerably improved handling of the backlight.
Those who have the early A00 revisions there is a great chance you got a unit suffering from escaping light, but those who invest in Dell’s 30″ flagship from now on should be safe.
