Some time ago rumours about Dell being on the verge of acquiring the specialized PC builder Alienware. This was to broaden its assortment for extreme gamers and enthusiasts where the size of the wallet is not a problem. According to Rahul Sood at VoodooPC, a competitor to Alienware, there were several things that pointed to that Dell would buy Alienware and after Alienware stated that it can not comment on this things really started to roll. Now Dell’s Australian spokesman, Paul McKeon, has announced that these speculations should be taken with a pinch of salt, not the least considering where they came from. McKeon continues ith explaining why and how well Dell would do without having to purchase Alienware by marketing its won XPS series instead.
It seems that Dell is not intrested in purchasing Alienware after all, but on the other hand it doesn’t no right out loud. We will just have to wait and see whether Dell will continue with its XPS series or go after an established brand.
