Dell has presented a new multimedia PC in the form of Studio XPS 7100, but what it neglected to mention was parts of the CPU selection for the system. Dell uses AMD’s Vision platform and brags about everything from quad-cores to hexa-cores. When configuring two of the Studio XPS 7100 systems you can choose a not yet launched hexa-core processor, Phenom II X6 1035T.
Phenom II X6 1035T would be the new entry model of AMD’s hexa-core family and according to previous information it should operate at 2.60 GHz, sport a total cache of 9MB and be rated 95W TDP.
The processor has Turbo CORE technology, but the exact frequency boost is uncertain even if it will most likely be around 3.1 GHz.
The processor is paired with the AMD RS785 chipset and SB710 southbridge, which is hardly an optimal configuration. The interesting bit is that the processor is available in OEM channels and that the price difference between it and big brother 1055T is 50 USD.
Now we just have to wait and see if Phenom II X6 1035T is OEM exclusive or not.
