DRM cause trouble for libraries

DRM may very well be a way to (almost) ensure yourself of that no one makes illegal copies of copyrighted material, but lately we’ve run into a lot of practical problems with DRM. Maybe not so much because of the use of copy protection but how it is being implemented. Spielberg felt the wrath of DRM going haywire not too long ago and now libraries in Great britain has started to worry about what DRM might mean in the long run.

It is just thata the whole idea with a library is that it is suppose to store documents and writings for future use and that they are suppose to be available for everyone and since the spread is highly limited and controlled it is not a matter of breaking any laws. However DRM will become a problem when a book uses DRM since protection will still be there even after the time for the rights has passed. Also the fact that DRM systems are constantly changed will most likely cause problems as some of them will become outdated.
