Energy efficient processors is a component of modern notebooks that are becoming slimmer for each day that passes. There just isn’t room for large batteries or advanced cooling. Intel’s CULV platform is market leading with thin notebooks and now it looks like it will look over one of the biggest drawbacks of the platform. Most current CULV processors only have one sole core, which isn’t exactly optimal under big loads. Now that Intel is planning an update of the CULV family it’s with plenty of dual-core CPUs.
In Q4 Intel will release three new CULV processors dubbed Intel Core 2 Duo SU7000, Intel Core 2 Duo SU4000 and Intel Celeron SU3000.
These three models all sports two cores and will replace current single core models in Intel’s assortment. The only single-core processor to remain in the CULV family will be entry model Intel Celeron 700.
If they can keep power consumption down these will become some very pleasant news for future CULV computers.
