ECS returns and Foxconn begins making video cards, these are two major events in 2006 that will result in much tougher competition for today’s video card manufacturers. Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) shut down its video card manufacturing in 2004, but is now rumored to be planning a return, however it has not made any official statement yet. Foxconn has already launched its first video cards, PX7900 GTX, based on NVIDIA’s new flagship. To us consumers this may very well mean more and better video cards and of course lower prices, I.e. if ECS and Foxconn decide to go all the way. Source: DigiTimes
