ECS Scalable Dual Graphic Engine

ECS Scalable Dual Graphic Engine, also known as S.D.G.E., is one of the the new features the mainboard manufacturer ECS is talking alot about. The technology is suppose to be an alternative for nVidia’s SLI and ATi’s Crossfire, which means we’re talking about a technology that allows you to runt two graphic cards together in the same system. ECS pushes for its S.D.G.E. technology as a cheaper alternative for ATi and nVidias equivalent and at the same time be able to mix very different graphic cards. Even use ATi and nVidia cards together, if this won’t be prohibited through the drivers. At GDHardware they’ve taken a closer look at the technology behind S.D.G.E. and even if it may sound very promising there are some quesiton who remain, e.g. the performance.
