Hynix was the first memory manufacturer to have its DDR3 memories verified for Intel’s new Bearlake platform, but has now been accompanied by Elpida, whose DDR3 memory has now been verified for Intel’s G33 reference platform. Intel has checked that Elpida’s DDR3 modules work satisfactory together with its new DDR3 chipsets and approved another manufacturers memory circuits. Intel hasn’t just approved Elpida’s DDR3 1066 modules, but also performed some very promising tests with the manufacturer’s DDR3-1333 modules.

“Elpida’s DDR3 memory is successfully running on Intel’s desktop platform,” said Pete MacWilliams, Senior Fellow, Intel Corporation. “This successful system performance is a clear sign that DDR3 is well on its way to becoming a key technology for desktop platforms in 2007.”
