Epox EP-AP68P/G is an interesting motherboard in several ways, first of all it’s a new motherboard from Epox, a manufacturer we’ve been hearing very little from lately. At the same time, the board is based on NVIDIA’s coming chipset GeForce 7050-630A, which will replace the GeForce 61xx series and go after the AMD 690G chipset. In other words, it’s a chipset with an integrated graphics circuit and even if NVIDIA is still working on perfecting its creation the people over at OC Workbench have been able to get their hands on Epox EP-AP68P/Gm. As it should be, NVIDIA’s chipsets are rich with features, but what we’re most interested in is of course the integrated graphics circuit.

NVIDIA has trumped AMD by adding support for Shader Model 3.0, which AMD 690G lacks. Despite the beta status of the drivers the MCP68 graphics circuits performed really well when compared to AMD 690G. Using beta drivers and a preproduction sample this a very early preview, but still indicates that AMD could be surpassed on the integrated market soon.
