Back in November of last year, NVIDIA announced the Enthusiast System Architecture. An open and free standard for monitoring and controlling the parameters of power supplies, cases and different kinds cooling. The standard is based on the USB protocol, and have now been accepted by the USB Implementers Forum. This should further popularize the protocol among case, power supply and cooling manufacturers. It also means that any further development and refinement will be controlled by a USB IF sub-committee. ESA products are available from Cooler Master, CoolIT Systems, NVIDIA, PC Power & Cooling, Silverstone, Tagan, and ThermalTake, with more expected to follow.
