While Intel is just getting into the low-end ultraportable market, VIA has been working there for long. It’s latest Isaiah processor was recently shipped out to partners for final testing and it shouldn’t take long before we will see more of it. In the meantime, VIA and Everex have announced CloudBook Max. A clean and stylish 8.9″ ultraportable sporting integrated single-chip Mobile WiMAX solution, which can be used with Sprint’s high-speed XOHM wireless network, as well as regular 802.11b/g networks.



CloudBook Max sports a 1.6GHz VIA C7-M ULV 3.5W processor paired with the recently announced VIA VX800 digital media IGP chipset, and a bright 8.9″ WVGA display at 1024×600 pixels resolutions. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, dual 2Mpixel webcams and an integrated GPS receiver.





It sports up to four hours of battery time, 2GB DDR2, 80GB harddrive, TV out, measures (WxDxH) 240x175x27mm and weighs less than 1kg. It should be available in a year.
