EVGA GeForce 7950GX2 Black Pearl truly has potential for becoming a very nice graphics card and even if it will be an expensive such it’s never wrong to dream. EVGA has decided to launch a monster card based on NVIDIA’s GeForce 7950GX2 circuit and the plan is simply less heat and higher frequencies. The cool comes a water cooling system and handmade (?) water blocks by Innovatek. This more exotic cooling will be silent and at the same time effective compared to the air cooler often found with these cards. According to EVGA it has succeeded in lowering the temperatures of the graphics card’s two cores with up to 30°C. From about 77°C-88°C with air cooling down to 50°C using the water cooling system.

Both graphics circuits and the card’s memory has been possible to overclock much more than what air cooled cards have been capable of, over 600MHz with the GPU and over 1500MHz with the memory seems to be working just fine. EVGA’s Black Pearl card will also be possible to use in a Quad SLI configuration if you adjust the position of the waterblocks. The price will be between 799 and 899 euro ($1,000 – $1,500), a couple of hundreds more than regular 7950GX2 cards. If you want a water cooling kit that can handle two of these cards in Quad SLI you have to pay another 200 euro ($250).
