NVIDIA will, as we’ve earlier reported, launch a number of new chipsets for Intel’s processor platform and the flagship will be known as nForce 680i SLI. This chipset will be the successor to nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition and will most likely appear on boards from many manufacturers now that the NF590 chipset has proven to be less than popular among manufacturers. A picture of what is suppose to be one of the first nForce 680i motherboards has now surfaced, a board from eVGA. The motherboard is equipped with three PCI Express X16 slots, which could mean that NVIDIA will do the same as ATI and have a similar platform as Boundless Gaming with the RD600 chipset.

Other than that we seen dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, loads of USB2.0 ports, FireWire and an 8 channel sound circuit. The cooling is completely passive and the design of the cooling for the circuits implies that the CPU cooler will also cool the heatsinks for the chipset. A quiet solution that will be appreciated by most. The motherboard is supposedly made by Foxconn, since eVGA doesn’t have a plant of their own. When the motherboard will appear in stores and at what cost remains to be seen.
