EVGA’s enthusiast and overclocker motherboard series Classified will soon get a new member. The motherboard that has been developed by among others overclocker Peter “Shamino” Tan is something extraordinary. The card, which appeared a few weeks back, supports two LGA 1366 processors, which means Intel’s Xeon 5500 family or other QPI compatible processors. The motherboard looks more like a workstation board with its enormous size and loads of feature, but it’s more than that.

Even through the board is controlled by Intel’s 5520 server chipset it’s a motherboard for extreme overclockers and enthusiasts. EVGA is said to have left no stones unturned as it tweaked the lot out of the board and the power circuitry is enough for feeding the processors with up to 500W if necessary.

EVGA has blessed each socket with 8-phase digital PWM power supply that support frequencies up to 1333KHz, which can also be set in the BIOS. Other unique Classified functions such as inductance capacitors are listed among the specifications.

The motherboard is called EVGA 270-GT-W555 and apparently EVGA hasn’t used any specific formfactor when it designed the board. This has its upside though since it now supports 4-way CrossFireX and Quad SLI with full bandwidth (x16 x 4) thanks to two of NVIDIA’s NF200 PCI Express chip.

The motherboard is expected to appear in march and will most likely be limited edition and with a price tag that will make most normal users faint. Still, we’re very eager to see what it can do.
