EVGA has launched a new motherboard based on Intel’s enthusiast chipset X58. The motherboard is thus for the LGA 1366 platform and not the least Intel’s hexa-core Core i7 processors with Core i7 980X leading them. As usual EVGA focuses on enthusiasts and overclockers.
EVGA X58 Classified3 has a powerful 10 phase PWM power supply with prodalizer capacitors for maintaining steady voltages. The card sports four PCIe x16 ports, but no NF200 bridge chip means there are only 32 PCIe lanes and only 8x bandwidth each with four cards.
EVGA has fitted a pretty big heatsink for the chipset while the southbridge and voltage circuits have their separate heatsinks. The motherboard is covered by lifetime warranty and supports USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps and use the E-ATX formfactor.
