Eye-Fi is a name you should try to remember in the future as it recently released information about a new series of flash memory cards. Something that may seem rather ordinary, but these are not just any flash memories. Eye-Fi’s new series will namely come with an integrated circuit that makes it possible to transfer data without wires. The new flash memory series will support WiFi, WUSB and WiMAX, which would mean that your digital camera or other portable device will always be accessible through a wireless connection, no matter the unit’s own specifications. Perhaps transferring your pictures from your digital camera to your Xbox 360, completely without wires or cables and according to Eye-Fi very easily.
“From the look of things however it appears that Eye-Fi will launch with three main products. Eye-Film will be a Secure Digital card that has WiFi support and will at least ship in a 1GB module, Eye-Client which will support other devices such as digital camcorders, and Eye-Mobile for devices like mobile phones and possibly digital music players.”
The price of these very interesting memories doesn’t seem to be much higher than the ordinary flash memories either. The concept sounds extremely promising and we hope to hear more about this soon.
