Intel’s popular Atom processor will be updated starting next year. Pineview will arrive sporting an integrated GPU and memory controller and be used with Intel’s new netbook platform Pine Trail. One of the first Pine Trail netbooks has now been outed by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). The computer is made by Lenovo and has the model name FL5-B3. It sports 10.1″ display with 1024×600 pixel resolution.

Hardly breathtaking but the rest of the hardware is all the more interesting. Except from the coming 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor we have the new Intel NM10 Express southbridge. Lenovo have squeezed in 2GB DDR2-667 RAM and 250GB harddrive.

Lenovo FL5-B3, probably just an internal name, have no real awesome features to make it stand out, but it clearly shows that Pine Trail is getting pretty close. A faster graphics circuit, more RAM and hopefully faster processor consuming half the power is at least a nice upgrade from the current low-low-low-end hardware we have today.
