Fedora Core 6 has so finally arrived. After a lot of problems when trying to straighten out bugs before the launch, while at the same time new ones appeared things are finally under control and Core 6 has been released, also known as Zod. The new version will be up to 50% faster than Core 5 and any equivalent distribution thanks to its dynamic linking for applications. Red Hat has also been working hard on improving the 3D graphics environment with Core 6 and for those who are interested in Virtualization, Core 6 has an interesting manager than might prove useful.

Core 6 offers so much goodies it’s impossible to list them all here, but those who wants to know more can head over to Red Hat’s release notes, which unfortunately is down when this is written, simply because of the huge load on the servers.

Those who wants to download Fedora Core 6 can turn to Red Hat’s BitTorrent tracker or its list or download mirrors.
