Car manufacturers have become the hottest thing among notebook manufacturers to affiliate with. Acer has its Ferrari series, ASUS is working with Lamborghini and Itronix have launched a Hummer laptop together with General Motors. Now that the big notebook manufacturer Lenovo announces its affiliate it is not as pompous and high-tech as the competition, but the brand itself is hardly something to complain about. Lenovo has namely teamed up with none less than Coca Cola and even if many would agree that computers and cola have a hard time mixing it will now launch a limited supply Coca Cola-inspired laptop in China.
Lenovo F20 iCoke is the clever name of this creation and as the current trend goes it is a truly portable creation with a 12.1″ display housed in a shell made from magnesium and aluminum covered by a specially designed Coca Cola theme. The battery time is specified to impressive 8.5h with two batteries. The computer is delivered with a Intel Pentium M778 processor, 512MB DDR2-RAM, 80GB harddrive, GMA900 graphics card, WiFi, Bluetooth, three USB 2.0 ports and FireWire.
Alas, the notebook will only be available in China and is the first proof that Lenovo is allowed to make portables with Coca Cola’s branding. One might wonder what really is the best attraction, an exciting car manufacturer or a gigantic consumer brand.
