Small preview imageFirefox is today at version 1.0.4 and the next version we’re all waiting for is 1.1 which is expected to arrive later theis year. Now it seems to have arrived an early alpha version of Firefox 1.1 and since it is only a release candidate of Alpha 1 we can understand there is still some things to fixbefore Firefox 1.1 is ready. Despite all this they’ve published Alpha 1 RC of Firefox 1.1, a.k.a. Deer Park, and hope that the community will help them find and fix bugs before the final Alpha 1 release.

Firefox 1.1 has except for a noticeably improved extension system also a new function called “Reporter”. This makes it possible for users to report non-working sites. But the biggest change since Firefox 1.0 is the siterendering engine Gecko that has been developed during the last year. The new rendering engine will according to many be even faster than today’s version and Firefox 1.1 seems to be a really fast browser. Even if this is just a very early version of Firefox 1.1 you can get a good hint of how the final version will look like.
