Mozilla was aiming for 3 million downloads during the first 24 hours after the release of Firefox 3. They got 8 million. Even though Mozilla had some serious server problems from time to time, and even disabled some locales, they were still able to surpass anyone’s expectations. We seriously doubt that anyone had guessed that Firefox 3 would be downloaded more than 8,000,000 times in 24 hours. Right after the launch so many people were downloading that it actually looked like Mozilla would break 10 million, but the pace slowed down after a while and landed just north of 8 million. At the time of publishing Firefox 3 is closing in on 12 million. Have you downloaded your copy yet?
