According to the latest surveys, Firefox has been in a bit of a jam lately, especially on the American market where they used to gain a lot on Internet Explorer. Now that analytical company XiTi has published a new survey of the web browsers in Europe it shows that Firefox is growing fast. During the last year Firefox has moved up close to 5 points from 19.4% on April 8, 2006 to 24.1% on March 11, 2007. On top of the overall increase it’s quite interesting to see what countries that are using Firefox the most. In two countries over 40% of the Internet browsers are Mozilla Firefox, a very impressive figures by an alternative browser. Slovenia is best with 44.5% and our Finnish neighbors come in second with 42.3%.
The remaining Nordic countries aren’t quite as good at using alternative browsers with Sweden at 22.8%, but both Denmark and Norway are way below with 13.8% and 17.4% respectively. However, it’s not Europe that has the highest ratio of Firefox users, but Oceania where 24.8% of the Internet users browse the web using Firefox.
