We’ve already posted our preview of the upcoming Intel X38 chipset, but we have so much more to share than we were possible to tell you in our rather short preview. The preview was built around the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe of ASUS Digital Home series, which is not really a board for the true enthusiasts. The board is indeed a good performer though, but the board layout makes it hard to use with a multi-GPU configuration. Waiting for the ASUS R.O.G. Maximus, Kinc went to Taiwan to compete in Gigabyte’s invitational contest, battling among others hicookie (Unfortunately Kingpin couldn’t make it).
Since Gigabyte is the main organizer, they also supply the motherboards for the contest. We’ve namely been given the first two mass produced boards in the world. These will reflect the true performance of the board and we will supply you with some figures later. Possibly even some world class results.
