The Folding@Home team saga began in September of last year. A couple of users, including yours truly, started folding for the good sake of it, but to attract more people we decided to make it a public and a highlighted feature here at NordicHardware. On October 1st, exactly eight years after the project was first announced Folding@NH went public and since then the team has gathered 24,109,007 points, average 100,000 points per day and is ranked 177, at the time of writing.
We have been awarding users who have outdone themselves, one way or another, and named them Patrons of the Month:
- October – Beta
- November – -PrE-
- Christmas – emokid
- December – Anderz
- January – Bjornsson
- February – theredhairball
- March – koksgolvet
And to complete the list and make it up to date, congratulate vCore and this for their titles of Patron of the Month of April and May. Both have been contributing steadily with PPDs above 5,000, and currently over 12,500 PPD together. Their contributions should of course be valued, but right now all we offer them is the grand title. Whether the prizes will return is something we will leave unsaid.
We also want to acknowledge another folder who has showed great enthusiasm and dedication to Folding@Home. He has been a long time contributor and one who never stops asking what else you can do to contribute, LoWRiDeR82. Since June isn’t quite over yet we decided he should be named Patron of Midsummer, something that may perhaps not mean that much for people that don’t known their Viking history, but we can assure you that it means a great deal to us.
The updated list now looks something like this:
- October – Beta
- November – -PrE-
- Christmas – emokid
- December – Anderz
- January – Bjornsson
- February – theredhairball
- March – koksgolvet
- April – vCore
- May – this
- Midsummer – LoWRiDeR82
All of the 163 team members should be praised for their contributions and we hope more we will see the good that is Folding@Home. Until further notice, keep folding and know that you are doing a good thing.
