When we reported about the first beta version of Folding@Home client for ATI’s Radeon X1900 series we were mighty impressed by the promised performance. Some has wondered how you can increase the performance of your F@H system even further and now one way of doing it is adding another graphics card . The first version of Stanford’s ATI F@H client only offered support for one graphics card, but now it has released an update which makes it possible to run a CrossFire configuration with Folding@Home. Exactly how much you will gain is hard to say but there should be plenty of potential.
The new 5.91 version of the GPU client, which Stanford calls it, has some limitations. You need to do some tweaking to make CrossFire work, e.g. the cards has to be connected to a monitor each. More information about how to get your CrossFire system to work with the 5.91 client can be found in the FAQ. The client can be downloaded from Stanford’s website.
