ForceWare 81.84 Beta – Benchmarks

ForceWare 81.84 Beta was discussed yesterday and these are the latest drivers for nVidia’s GeForce-based graphic cards. One of the more interesting news are the optimizations for processors with dual cores. Which in theory would mean that users with dual-core processors will get some free 3D-performance with the new drivers. Theory and practice is two completely different things though and the people over at TweakTown decided to compare the two to see how well nVidia has optimized its new drivers.

ForceWare 81.84 Beta is according to TweakTown’s results a pure miracle for some applications. In Far Cry and Half-Life 2 the difference is huge and if the people at TweakTown has any idea of what they are doing nVidia has made a great job with its optimizations. The biggest differences are when the cards are not pushed to the limit but also when we increase the amount of eyecandy, but then mainly with SLI-setups. Interesting reading for those with dual core processors and GeForce-graphic cards.
