ForceWare 91.45 is the first official driver from NVIDIA that sports the graphics card manufacturer’s Quad SLI technology with its consumer cards, GeForce 7950 GX2. NVIDIA has now finally released this driver to the public and this means that anyone can get an extreme gaming machine with two GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics cards and altogether four graphics circuits. This will give the user the possibility to enjoy XHD gaming (eXtreme High-Definition), which is NVIDIA’s own name for reolutions up to 2560×1600 pixels. That NVIDIA’s new drivers sport Quad SLI doesn’t automatically mean that you can’t just throw in two GeForce 7950 GX2 graphcis cards into you current system and go nuts, you need a few more things.

You have to pair the two with the right hardware and to Quad SLI it’s both graphics cards and motherboards that are important to get a fully functional system. This is what NVIDIA had to say about what components you can use with the ultimate gaming machine.

  • ForceWare 91.45 graphics card driver

  • Two NVIDIA SLI-Ready GeForce® 7950 GX2 graphics cards

  • An NVIDIA nForce®4 SLI X16- or a new NVIDIA nForce 590/570 SLI-based motherboard

  • An AMD® Athlon™ FX- 62 or Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor

And don’t forget a rigorous power supply and a monitor at at least 24″, preferrably 30″ with a 2560x1600px resolution. When this has been acquired you can download NVIDIA’s new driver from our file archive and perhaps return with pictures of the delight up and running.
