ok heres the story i had before a asus gf2 gts pro and it gave me sometimes sucky fps so after advice from friends i went to the store and payed 2,5k swedish crowns fora tornado gf3 titanium 200. being a optimist walking home dreamt of 100 fps all the time.. nothing could be further from the thruth...
installed card reinstalled cs loaded it up and started playing 100 fps i was woooohooo... until some people came on my screen and fps dropped to sometimes 40?
i thaught something must be wrong with drivers i downloaded new ones same prob there (vsync off, vsync on, aa off , aa on, blocktransfer on blocktransfer off) still no differance then i thaught mmm maybe something wrong with windows so i format c:
installed and reinstalled all theese os
win98 (about 20 times total i think)
win98se (about 10 times total)
winme (about 2 times)
win 2000 pro (about 9 times)
win 2000 advanced server (1 time)
win xp pro (3 times)
win xp corp pro (6 times)
as you can see i have tested all os in and out and still nothing thoose numbers are not "high" i really think i have installed some more... (this is a period of 3 weeks aprox)
tested with direct x 7,8.0,8.1
and all sorts of drivers with each os still same prob.
went to forums posted (found the best thread here) ( http://www.geekboys.org/forums.....?forum_id= 1&id=736 ) still nothing works ive tested so many detonators, tornado drivers, directx versions etc and still i have same problem its really makeing me think about quitting cs because this is the only game i have fps prob in q3 works great,,,
3dmark benchmark score is 5584 not to great but not bad...
my specs are
amd thunderbird 1.2 ghz
aopen ak 73 pro (a) motherboard (flashed bios) tested with agpx4 fastwrite enabled agp memsize or whats it called 128 mb
sdram 133 256mb
fujitsu 16.6 gb hd (i have listend to someones advice and made a whole partion for just cs and ran norton speeddisk on it)
integrated soundcard on motherboard (i have also tested with a sblaster 128pci)
100 mb networkcard with a 10 megabyte sunet connection
i have really no clue what to do if someone have some (magic) trick or idea please post em. , oh well sorry for the long post wanted to give as much info as possible.

Well ehm not easy to say, that you gets 5500 something with 3dmark aint too bad 
.
Its not easy to say why it acts like that, what resulution do u run in? that it drops so heavy down to 40fps is a little odd, it must almost be lika if you have vert sync off you might have enabled any other option which make your fps drop.. cant really be any other thing... dont belive its summat wrong with your gf3 ti200 either... get the latest drivers for everything in ya comp hehe, use direct x 8.1 if ya can. test to use the 27.42 drivers, u can get it @ http://www.guru3d.com. Then you have atleast what i know the best drivers for your card. There are some newer drivers but havent checked them out yet.
Then test diffrent settings, get a tweak utility so you can change all settings. Geforce tweak utility is a prog i recommend.

det första du ska göra med en geforce 3 ti200 är att klocka upp minnen till 240 mhz (runt 480 mhz ddr) och gpun till 200 eller lite mer.
de flesta klarar av det, om din inte klarar av 2-3 3dmark tester på raken så klockar du ner lite igen.
du ska ha fastwrites på, sideband adressing på, 4x agp, 128 delat apg memsize,
detonator 27.51, agp master WS READ/WRITE on, kör minnen i CAS2, antialiasing av, anisotropy av. du har en amd på 1200 mhz, jag har för mig att dom går att överklocka utan att låsa upp, försök med det.
kör cs i OPEN GL mode... högsta upplösningen.
Om du gjort allt så här, så borde du få MYCKET bra fps i cs, förutom när någon kastar en smokebomb i närheten.

Jag tror felet ligger i ditt Half-Life...jag har en p3 733 med ett gf3 ti200(allt oklockat då)...99.9fps hela tiden..90fps med smoke. har aldrig sjunkit under 80fps..om du har en amd 1,2 borde du ha MYCKET högre fps..felet ligger någonannanstans. Har man en sådan dator ska man inte behöva klocka för att få bra fps i CS.

kan det vara ramen? lr nja,, men eftersom det funkar i 3dmark så är det inget allvarligt Men lös problemet genom att börja lira q3. hehe -- Eller e det samma sak där?
