Hi Everyone & God Jul 🙂

I am an International student here in Sweden. Unfortunately i broke my laptop last week so I have to buy a new one.

I want to buy ASUS as i think their laptops are good and they also provide many options in terms of specifications. Problem is i don't know where to get one. The minimum specifications i want are:

CPU: intel T6600 or T6500
Memory: 3 or 4 GB
Graphics: nVidia G102M
HDD: Whatever comes with it.
Bluetooth
WLAN
etc.

The model that meets these specs. is K50IN-SX149L but it is not available in any of the stores, secondly i want to have English Keyboard layout as being a programmer its difficult to adjust to Swedish keyboard due to bracket key placements etc. I also do not want any OS in it as i will use Ubuntu and Windows is waste of money for me.

So please guide me what should I do in this situation. My budget is around 5000 SEK to 6500 SEK maximum, if you have any other good suggestions other than ASUS within this price range then please let me know that as well.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions / links etc.

Nordichardware have a section for English-speaking members. Unfortunately, there are no new laptops sold in Sweden with English keyboard keyboard layout unless they have been imported independently. Finding such a computer might be hard. Warranty is also an issue if you are buying a computer from another country.

The easiest option would be to buy a laptop from an online retailer in an English country that ships to Sweden. Of course, there would still be the warranty issue then. Laptops have a big tendency to malfunction.

I dont know about Dell, but maby you kan get a tailored laptop from them?
They are global and warrenty should be covered worldwide imo.
They are a bit priceir, but maby warrenty and eng. kyb. can make up for it.

I apologize for posting my query here as i was not aware of the English section.

Anyways you are right about the English keyboard. The only retailer that agreed to ship an English keyboard for me was Alina Systems but they said that i have to pay extra charges for the shipping ... which is not feasible economically.

So finally I ended up buying ASUS K61IC with Swedish Keyboard and English OS. Its a nice laptop with two year global warranty.

Thanks guys for your reply ...
