Of all the Intel Core 2 Duo motherboards you run into it’s usually the ones based on Intel’s 975X and 965P chipset that get the most attention, together with NVIDIA’s nForce 680i and 650i. Even if there are loads of boards based on these chipset, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they all perform alike, especially if you’re interesting in overclocking. At Atomic they’ve taken a look at 14 motherboards based on these four chipsets, and nForce 590i, to see how well they overclock. It’s pretty obvious that even though two motherboards may be based on the same chipset they do not perform equally.
