Foxconn SZ901 – first Moblin netbook

Small preview image

Foxconn looks to be one of the first to get a Moblin netbook out in the open. Foxconn SZ901 will be shown at Computex this week and even if the hardware is what we expected, a single-core Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB harddrive in a 10.1″ format there are big changes to the software. Intel has participated from the start in the development of the Linux-based operating system Moblin and with the latest version 2.0 the operating system has gained all the more attention from netbook makers.

Moblin is specifically developed for less powerful computers and especially netbooks. So far the information surrounding Foxconn’s Moblin netbook is sparse, but in the movie published by Netbooknews.com the combination of netbook and Moblin looks pretty sweet.
