Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO Xi 2550 seems to be the first laptop using ATI’s latest integrated graphics circuit Radeon HD 2700. The first information about the Radeon HD 2700 appeared on ATI’s website only a few days ago, but already the first computer sporting the chip has been announced. The graphics circuit is geared toward the mid-range segment and is an upgraded version of the HD 2600 chip. Radeon HD 2700 is made with 65nm technology, making it both cooler and faster. Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO Xi 2550 doesn’t look like a mid-range machine though…
Except from ATI’s graphics circuit, you get an Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, up to 2GB RAM, HDMI output, two harddrive in RAID, optional Blu-ray player and a 17″ display with 1920×1200 resolution.
The only performance indication supplied by Fujitsu-Siemens is 4000 points in 3DMark06. How the chip measures up to NVIDIA’s equivalents remains to be seen.
