G80 is NVIDIA’s first DirectX 10-capable graphics card and the rumors about the specifications for the card have been coming one after another. The information has been varying and the only thing we can say for certain of is that G80 will be a powerful card, which will also consume large mounts of power and need much cooling. Now pictures of what is suppose to be a test card of NVIDIA G80 has surfaced and would these pictures reflect the retail version of G80 there should be more than a few cases and power supplies that will need upgrading. NVIDIA G80 looks to be something extraordinary; the card is almost 30 cm long and use a hybrid cooler, which use both air and water to cool the graphics card.
Considering the information that has appeared about the power consumption of G80 we can’t say we’re surprised, but it’s still pretty sensational to see a hybrid cooler on a prototype graphics card from NVIDIA. But would they turn out to be a good reflection of what we will see in stores people should start thinking of if they have enough power, or even if you have enough room for it. But for now, we’re going to let the pictures speak for themselves –
