Graphics card manufacturer Galaxy has taken a closer look at NVIDIA’s mid-range GeForce GTS 250. Considered a challenger to AMD’s Radeon HD 4770 and Radeon HD 4850 it is up for a tough job. To improve GTS 250 chances Galaxy sat down and not only designed a new and more efficient cooler, it has also equipped the card with faster memory circuits.
Galaxy has kept the chips at reference frequency 2200MHz from factory, but says that the new 0.8ns GDDR3 chips from Samsung will reach 2600MHz without problem.
To make the card a better overclocked Galaxy decided to pair the more efficient cooler with 5-phase power supply. The cost of these upgrades wasn’t revealed.
