GeForce 9800GTX will launch at the end of the month, a week or so after the GeForce 9800GX2. Specifications are more or less identical to the current GeForce 8800GTS, and people have been hoping there is something more to the new G92 cores. The benchmarks posted by VictorWang clearly shows that there isn’t. The new cards have better power circuitry and overclocks slightly better than your average GeForce 8 series, but other than that there is practically no reason to upgrade for a GeForce 8 series owner.
The memory frequency is 60MHz higher with 9800GTX, but other than that, the figures are identical (naked pictures in the link). According to VictorWang, both the GPU and memory overclocks better. Much thanks to the new PCB and PWM, but the performance per clock is identical to the GeForce 8800GTS.
