NVIDIA will release the new GeForce 9800GT, dubbed GeForce GTS 240, in April this year. Earlier on NVIDIA took the 65nm G92 GPU, used by GeForce 9800GT, and moved it to the 55nm node. Even if the shrunk graphics circuit is close to identical to the first G92 circuit NVIDIA also revised the circuit board. The 55nm circuit, also known as G92b and currently being used by the GeForce 9800GTX+, will sport a new PCB called P361. A circuit board VR-Zone has acquired scratches of.
The scratches shows that very few differences from previous models, but GeForce GTS 240 will get a revised power design, which does sound sane since it uses a more power efficient 55nm GPU. Whether this is enough to justify the rebranding of an old graphics card is something we will let you decide. The scratches can be found below, courtesy of VR-Zone.
