Nvidia will in short launch the new graphics cards of the GTX 700 series. Besides the top model GTX 780, we also expect GTX 770 to appear soon, a graphics card that builds on similar components as GTX 680. The first real benchmarks imply that GTX 770 will offer at least 10 percent better performance.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 will according to rumors build on the same GK104 GPU that is used in the GTX 680. In other words GTX 770 will be very similar to the current card GTX 680, but with a new name and tweaked specifications.

When the first concrete benchmarks now have leaked most of the rumors are confirmed as both pictures and benchmarks at Chiphell concludes that Geforce GTX 770 is about 10-12 percent faster than Geforce GTX 680. This is thanks to higher clock frequencies on the GPU and (a lot on the) memories.

The graphics card also inherits GPU Boost 2.0 that was last seen with the flagship Geforce GTX Titan.

If the benchmark results from Chiphell are accurate and the power consumption for the test system was by just 7.5 percent it sounds like a decent upgrade from the cousin GTX 680. It all comes down to the price tag, but either way the card launches in a week or so.
