Gigabyte has more or less broke through ever since the launch of Core 2 Duo and the P965 chipset, their first high-end motherboard for the Core 2 Duo platform was the highly acclaimed GA-965P-DQ6, followed by the equally acclaimed GA-P35-DQ6 based on the P35 chipset. The successor to the P35 is up for launch very soon, and surprisingly, we haven’t seen that many prototype motherboards, nor info of the upcoming generation. The GA-X38-DQ6 has made an appearance over at Iextremtek, with only DDR3 slots and a cooling system which isn’t nearly as huge as the current GA-P35-DQ6 sports. Not only images are posted, but also outright specifications and a document called “GA-X38-DQ6 Selling Points”, which clarifies what should keep the new motherboard selling.

Also, documents for every thinkable and unthinkable feature is available to look at. Here’s an image of the board and the “Selling Points” document:

For more images and info, check out Iextremtek (in French, but the documents are in English).
