Last month we handed you exclusive pictures of ASUS coming X58 motherboard, ASUS P6T Deluxe, built for Nehalem. More and more manufacturers are getting closer to a final design and we’re not surprised that pictures of Gigabyte’s coming Intel X58 motherboard have surfaced. Gigabyte X58-Extreme is the name of the board. Intel Nehalem X58 sports the new LGA1366 interface, the interface used by the high-end Core i7 processors, also known as Bloomfield.
The motherboard sports four x16 PCIe 2.0 slots whereof two have full x16 bandwidth while the remaining two has to settle for x8 bandwidth. Whether Gigabyte will send over a sample to NVIDIA to get it verified for SLI is so far unknown, but in that case you would be able to run both ATI CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI on the board.
Gigabyte has fitted power/reset buttons on the board but also seated a post code LED next to the SATA ports. Other features worth mentioning includes six memory slots, you can expect this with all X58 boards, and 12-phase power supply for the processor.
TweakTown has posted a number of high-res pictures of Gigabyte GA-X58-Extreme, but we have no idea how the boards performs. We will have to wait for Gigabyte to send one over.
