Motherboard maker Gigabyte has launched a new motherboard for Intel’s Sandy Bridge platform. Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 is based on Intel H67 and uses the integrated graphics processor. The board is of the Mini-ITX format and supports functionality such as USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps and HD audio.
Gigabyte has given its mini motherboard a smart PWM power supply that will be the base of an effective and energy efficient platform. To further lower temperatures and improve stabiltiy Gigabyte has supplied GA-H67N-USB3-B3 with extra copper layers, Ultra Durable 3, and added both cirtcuits and software for optimized power consumption.
As usual Gigabyte has put a lot of USB connections in there. A total of 10 can be used and two of these are fed by a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 controller. The motherboard comes with On/Off Charge Technology that allows users to charge USB units even when the computer is turned off. At the same time the 3x USB Power Boost technology allows the ports to output more current and speed up the charge process and support more power consuming devices, such as Apple iPad.
Other noteworthy functions include four SATA-kontakter (2 x SATA 6.0 Gbps), one eSATA port, one PCIe x16 port, dual HDMI outputs and two DDR3-DIMM memory slots. The board also sports dual BIOS circuits and Hybrid EFI that supports harddrives over 3TB.
Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 can be found in stores and costs less than 100€.
