Gigabyte is working a new mini motherboard for Intel’s LGA1155 platform and H77N-WiFi will target small systems with ambitions of powering multiple monitors and network connections. The motherboard has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two HDMI outputs and WiDi support.
Gigabyte H77N-WiFi mini-ITX is not yet officially launched, but pictures and specifications of the 17 x 17 centimeter motherboard has appeared online. Just as e.g. Zotac Z77X-ITX WiFi, Gigabyte has decided to install two Gigabit Ethernet circuits from Realtek, and completed this with Wi-Fi from Intel. Besides three network connections the motherboard also has four SATA ports, whereof two are SATA 6.0 Gbps and two SATA 3.0 Gbps.
We also find a total of 10 USB ports, where four adhere to the new USB 3.0 standard. Other pleasant functions include a PCI Express x16 slot for graphics cards, support for Intel Smart Response (SSD Cache) and two DDR3 slot supporting up to 16GB DDR3-1600 memory. The power is supplied through a 4+1 phase power supply.
Looking at the list of features we find a few that should appeal to HTPC builders, including two HDMI outputs, DVI, and 8 channel HD audio from Realtek. It also supports Bluetooth 4.0 and the wireless network card supports Intel WiDi for wireless transfers for audio and video.
Gigabyte H77N-WiFi is set to appear later this month.
