Gigabyte K8NDSLI Pro-RH may be one of the first motherboards arriving after June 6 when AMD is expected launch its new Socket AM2 platform. At TweakTown they’ve namely published some specifications and pictures of the board that saw at Gigabyte’s headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. The board they looked at was just a “dummy” and not a working sample, but at least we now have a layout to investigate and what caught our attention is the placement of the memory banks. They are placed a bit too close to the socket to our liking and if this is to improve the signal quality for the new DDR2 standard we don’t know. It will however be tough for those who wants to use larger heatsinks such as Zalman’s “flower” series.
