It has under a couple of weeks come out some information about Gigabytes plans to introduce a new AMD-motherboard based on nVIDIA’s enormously popular nForce2-chip.
Nothing have ever been official but Gigabyte has today sended out a message about their new line. You can see on Gigabytes roadmap that they have six different nForce2-motherboards that will be launched this year but today it’s the topmodel GA-7NNXP that is in focus.
Gigabyte GA-7NNXP is based on the new nForce2 Ultra 400-stepping which, official, have support for the upcoming 400MHz FSB Barton Processors. Whether nForce2 Ultra 400 and the “usual” C1-stepping by nForce2-chip is the same product is, however, still a bit unclear but it doesn’t seems to be impossble as you can read here.
Gigabyte has really put an effort with their GA-7NNXP model and the card is presumably the best equipped nForce2-motherboard on the market. We can also mention Dual LAN (With 1 Gigabyte-controller), DualBIOS, Dual RAID (Both SATA and ATA133), support for nVIDIA Soundstorm and much more among its features.
One picture and the very intresting features can be found below. We haven’t got any priceinformation yet but hopefully it will show up soon.
