A while back we reported about how AMD had been proposing the DTX standard to Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers, and been successful doing so, and even if we will see a flood of motherboards for the new platform during Computex, Gigabyte has already launched its contribution. Gigabyte is namely the first manufacturer to launch a DTX motherboard for AMD’s Live! platform. The motherboard has been code-named Churchill and is based on the SiS761GX chipset, thus AMD’s Socket AM2. The chipset from SiS houses an integrated graphics circuit in the shape of Mirage 1 (DX7 support). The motherboard is expected to arrive in July, but the price is yet to be revealed.
“With the solid performance of the SiS761GX/SiS966 chipset implemented in this ground-breaking home server platform, home users are now able to access their data much more easily and enjoy the flexibility afforded by a high-performance PC processor in an always-on home appliance.”
