AMD Zacate is a processor developed for notebooks. With its Bobcat CPU architecture and dual cores it is an energy efficient circuit with DirectX 11 graphics that should work well for stationary systems too, which is kind of confirmed by Gigabyte that is working on overclocking functions for the new Gigabyte GA-E350V-USB3 motherboard.

Gigabyte is one of the biggest motherboard makers around and has shown interested in neat motherboards in mini-ITX formats before. Despite the small format it has shown that its products are capable of pushing components even higher through overclocking, which it now brings to the AMD Zacate platform.

Zacate is rated 18 watt TDP and with a powerful graphics circuit inside it has every chance of finding its wau into nettops and HTPCs. Gigabyte has realized that many users are interested in getting more power from its processors and it has now presented the Gigabyte GA-E350V-USB3 motherboard that comes with an integrated AMD E350 APU. The processor comes with two Bobcat cores operating at 1.6 GHz and a graphics portion with 80 stream processors spinning at 500 MHz.

The board comes with dual DDR3 memory slots and will allow users to overclok the memory bus from 1333 MHz to 1800 MHz, which also increase the bandwidth to CPU and GPU. Gigabyte has given the board high-quality capacitors and most likely you can overclock the CPU and GPU too.

Gigabyte GA-E350V-USB3 comes with one PCIe x16 slot for those who want more graphical punch and other functions worth mentioning include USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps and DVI and HDMI outputs.

We really look forward to hearing more of Gigabyte’s overclocking friendly Zacata motherboard and hopes more follow. At the same time we count the days until the first after-market coolers for Zacate appear.
