Gigabyte is together with ASUS and MSI the big dragons on the retail market and they will have a lot of new motherboards to show for Intel’s new Sandy Bridge platform. The former has now given us a taste of what is about to come. It has released pictures of its mid-range boards for LGA1155 using the Intel P67/H67 chipsets.
Gigabyte P67A-UD3R, P67A-UD3 and H67MA-UD2H are the names of the three models that have now appeared in product sheets and pictures at at Slashgear.com. Beside that the boards are based on Intel’s new chipsets we can note that all models builds on Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable 3 design with extra copper in the circuit boards, to improve stability and cooling.
Other functions that the three boards share are 3x USB Power, which means that the USB ports can be used to charge even larger units and charger faster through higher current over USB. All three boards sport dual PCIe x16 slots and dual BIOS circuits.
Gigabyte P67A-UD3R lures with a matte black PCB and uses, like the blue siblings P67A-UD3, the regular ATX formfactor. The difference is that UD3R has a more powerful power supply.
Gigabyte H67MA-UD2H continues with the classic blue, but with the H67 chipset Gigabyte has used a micro-ATX format and equips with a number of video outputs – HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI and D-Sub – to make use of Sandy Bridge’s integrated GPU.
Intel is expected to launch Sandy Bridge at CES in January 2011, and we expect these on the market around the same time.
