Motherboard maker Gigabyte has been offering its DualBIOS support for some time with the top models and the technology that moves past unnoticed by many can be a real lifesaver some times. A fellow editor managed to mess up a BIOS update which resulted in a bricked board and many curses. With dual BIOS chip the problem could have been solved in a few seconds and it is a function that Gigabyte will extend to all of its boards.

According to DigiTimes, the company has decided to supply all motherboards with the DualBIOS technology, which means that all Gigabyte owners can feel extra safe from possible BIOS problems.

The technology works completely automatically and allows the secondary BIOS chip to jump in in case the first BIOS would go corrupt. This is a venture we hope more companies will follow, which isn’t just a salvation for unlucky users but also lightens the RMA handling.
